Every journey is preceded by an intensive reconnaissance trip. The team selects projects, meets designers, artists, owners, authors, lecturers and experts, and carefully builds the programme. This approach is always aimed at penetrating as far as possible, where the host culture allows it, to places that are normally not or rarely open, such as schools, homes and studios. Public places with limited ticket sales are also brought within reach.

Travel curators, all with an architecture education as their foundation, guide each journey. This provides calm, overview and a substantive framework, without academic detachment. On almost every trip, a freelance expert assists the travel curator with specific knowledge about that destination and theme. In addition, planopli also engages local experts where necessary, who bring local sensitivities and current insights, with room for exchange and dialogue.

Very consciously, planopli travels with small groups of a maximum of thirty people. This not only makes the exclusive visits possible, but also real conversations: on the road, at the table, between two visits. Travelers with a shared interest or background truly meet each other in this way, exchange experiences and insights, and build bonds that extend beyond the trip. In this way, every journey grows into a moment of encounter, with people on site and among the travelers themselves.
