Bordeaux
For the umbrella organisation of housing associations in Flanders, uniting the sector and promoting social dialogue are central to their mission of achieving affordable, high-quality housing. They extend this vision to their biennial study trip for their members and interested parties: a group of no fewer than 50 people.
This year, they will be looking for inspiring examples in lively Bordeaux. The city is known for its picturesque historic centre on the banks of the Garonne, but perhaps even more so for its investments over the last 20 years in large-scale housing projects on the outskirts. Planopli is organising an extensive and unique visit to the emblematic Cité du Grand Parc project by Pritzker Prize winners Lacaton & Vassal, Cité Frugès by Le Corbusier and a city walk through the new Bastide district. There will also be time for wine tasting at La Cité Du Vin and a relaxing bike ride along the new banks of the Garonne.
