Geert Beirnaert

Geert studied political science with a specialisation in international relations. He has experience in the international aspects of the asylum and refugee issue. From this background, Geert developed a broad knowledge of interdisciplinary national politics, history and the broader social aspects of the destination country. Geert served as a mission leader on several missions to Burundi, Lebanon and Jordan in the framework of refugee resettlement.

As Dominique’s husband, his interest in architecture has also been stimulated over the years. Thanks to his background, he is able to place architectural developments in a historical, social and often political context in a nearby interdisciplinary manner. Geert not only contributes to the practical support of the journeys, but, given his background, also enriches the contextual experience of the architecture journeys.
